Middle and High School
Dear Parents, Guardians & Students:
Pescadero Middle/High School educators are doing their best to continue to provide a quality education for our students and to support the Coastside community. Teachers will be making extensive use of our G-Suite system and SchoolWise for posting assignments and communicating with you. G-Suite includes student emails, Google Drive (including Docs, Slides, etc.), and Google Classroom.
Parent & Student Expectations
Parents/guardians should ask to see their child’s school email and SchoolWise accounts. Work is assigned on a weekly basis each Tuesday and is due the following Tuesday. Each teacher is assigning one hour’s worth of work per day. Students are expected to complete four hours of work daily. Adhering to a daily schedule is recommended, as it will help maintain the semblance of a regular school day. Click here ( https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SHktDDQh4Nt6yctvij09CggyNpCVQuf7Z5sCI21wtPM/edit ) for the Remote Learning Checklist.
Daily Attendance
We also ask students to log their daily attendance as they begin the day's assignments, and we ask parents to sign this attendance log every day. Use any system that works for you. If you do not have a system, use the Remote Learning Checklist. The attendance is at the bottom of the document. Click here for directions on using this document.
The Importance of Checking Email, Google Classroom & Contacting Staff
Students, please check your email, Google Classroom, and Schoolwise a few times every day to keep up with assignments, due dates, and to learn how teachers would like students to submit work. Many teachers will also be using other web-based applications for instructional purposes, such as Zoom. Parents, contact your child's teachers directly should your children need textbooks or novels. Students, always contact your teachers via school email or even cell phone. All teachers have given out their cell numbers. All parents, guardians, and students may email me at kallen@lhpusd.com, call me at (650) 879-0274, or text me at (949) 633-3627 for questions of any kind.
School Office Hours, Pickup & Drop Off of Student Work
Because of the mandated Shelter in Place, teachers and staff have been directed to not be on site but to work remotely. Pescadero Middle/High School's limited office hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The high school will be open during these times for students and families to pick up work or if student printing is needed. We also have a 24/7 drop-off box located in the front of the high school's double doors where students and families can drop off completed packets and textbook work. They can pick up new packets and textbook work each Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m in the pickup box. These materials will remain in the pickup box until they are retrieved
Students, please use this opportunity to become a self-directed learner, to take responsibility for your education, and to make the most of this challenging and unique situation. We are in this together, and we are here to help!
